Mt. Diablo Adult Education (MDAE) is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator for its Career Technical Education Center (CTEC) Allied Health programs. This is a non-management position supported by a Program Administrator (management). The role is a program and school leadership one.
Scope of Work:
- Supports & coordinates Allied Health occupational programs.
- Supports instructional staff to ensure an effective adult learning environment.
- Assists teachers in keeping programs of study aligned to the California State Standards for Career Technical Education (CTE) and/or programmatic requirements.
- Assists teachers with curriculum implementation for a diverse population of adult students.
- Keeps abreast of and provides professional development on current educational practices, research based teaching strategies, evaluation of student progress, student advisement, etc.
- Provides administrator support for oversight of clerical staff program support.
- Implements CTE program-specific policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Provides support to students and staff as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- The candidate must possess a California Adult Education Designated Subjects Teaching Credential or equivalent Candidates who hold other California Education Credentials and are able to obtain the Adult Education Credential within five years will be considered - see http://www.ctc.ca.gov/credentials/CREDS/adult-voc-ed.html for information on credentialing in California.
· At least five years’ experience teaching and/or working with adults. · Evidence of successful staff development presentation. · Knowledge of High School and GED preparation student-centered instruction, materials and assessments for both high school students and adults. · Experience in differentiating instruction and materials for English Learners, students with disabilities, and nontraditional learners. · Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. · Excellent organizational skills. · Excellent oral and written communication skills. · Strong computer skills including integration of technology into instruction.
